Here’s what most people want to know before their first class at Spartan Combat Sports.
No. Classes at Spartan are designed to welcome beginners while giving experienced students and competitors room to keep developing. Let the coach know it is your first class and they can help you understand where to begin.
Yes. Spartan offers a complimentary first class. Adults may try a scheduled session, and weekday kids and youth classes require advance signup.
Wear comfortable athletic clothes and bring a water bottle. Ask the coach about gloves, shin guards, or other class-specific equipment before purchasing anything.

Yes. Spartan offers Kids Kickboxing & Self-Defense and Youth No-Gi Grappling & Wrestling Fundamentals. There is also a free 45-minute kids class on Saturdays at 10:00 AM.
Spartan is at 2411 Broadway Street in downtown Redwood City, close to Caltrain and public parking.
The academy features Zebra mats over a spring floor, 160-pound heavy bags, high ceilings, even lighting, air conditioning, and separate men’s and women’s locker rooms.
